Steve Lawson Loving this collection of bass-centric gentle, melodic glitchcore - Aphex/Squarepusher/Photek/The Books/DJ Krush etc... truly excellent eletronica :) Favorite track: Now I Know it's No.

about

This is my first complete album of compositions and expressing myself through the mix of electronic, glitch and ambience has been such an exciting journey, and I'm really happy with my outcomes. A lot of the sounds you'll be hearing are recordings of my bass with added modulation and manipulating effects, mixed with samples taken from daily sounds to conversations with friends to being caught inside a storm on a Spanish mountain.

The album captures and collates the emotions, experiences and sounds of a quite difficult winter; family difficulties, falling in and out of love and losing my best friend Becker made for a strange collection of thoughts and feelings. After growing up with Becker and experiencing so many adventures together we grew a close bond and saying goodbye was the most difficult thing I've ever done, she provided us with many smiles, many laughs, leaving us with some of the best stories and experiences.

I've been massively inspired by the likes of; Steve Lawson, Beardyman, Squarepusher and Aphex Twin, as well as taking inspiration from natural soundscapes and rhythms.

By downloading this album, you'll receive an extra 6 (short) tracks - small ideas/beats that were composed throughout the journey of this album.
Being it a free (pay-what-you-want) album, any money made from this will go straight into printing physical copies of the album, maybe even vinyls, who knows.

There a few people that I would like to thank for making this album what it is -
to Daniel James Tween, Michael Price and Ollie Patton for providing amazing motivation and constructive feedback on the compositions from the start, and for 'letting me' use samples of their voices....thank you DJT, thank you MP, thank you OP!
to Phi Yaan-Zek for being a great encouraging teacher, providing help and constructive feedback with both the compositions and production, and for generally inspiring me in many ways....thank you!
to Sam Rogers as without her this album wouldn't be, for her insane vocal talents (seriously you NEED to collab with her!), for her help with composing, motivation and constructive feedback....thank you!

And I thank you for taking the time too read this and listen to the album, it means so much to me, I hope you enjoy what you hear!
Stick around as the next album is already started taking shape :) :) :) :)
